Our mom lived at Aegis for over 10 years with most years in their memory care area. She started in the regular assisted living apartment then transitioned to memory care after her dementia worsened. The building was very clean and was kept up to date like a five star hotel. We were there long enough to see building improvements like new furniture, floors, carpets and paint, etc.
The care staff was very patient with my mom. They found different activities for her as her health declined over the years. They worked hard to accommodate her changing needs. They had a very good care staff to resident ratio. You can’t expect one-to-one care for an assisted living facility, but they tried to keep the same care staff assigned to our mom over the years. This provided consistency of care and was a comfort to our mom.
Nursing staff was exceptional. We were always informed of any health changes. Even a bug bite was reported the day that they noticed. We were always able to talk with a nursing staff member when we called or get a call back within hours. All in all, our mom was very well cared for and we were treated like an extended family.
