Aegis has been a wonderful place for my family member during a very difficult transition from independently living in their own home to a higher level of care. The facility looks and feels like a large home versus a clinical environment, and the staff are caring and engaging and really want the residents to feel like they are at home. I feel like they are an extension of our family, and we rely on Aegis to not only care for our aging loved one, but to help them feel loved and cared for in a place that feels like a home and not a facility.

We are grateful my mother lives at Aegis Napa. It is a small, intimate, friendly, and helpful environment where everyone is treated like family. Not having to worry about my mother’s care, feeding, and medicine management provides incredible peace of mind.

My 100-year-old mother entered Aegis Living of Napa a year ago when we moved her up to Napa to be closer to more family. Her two-room suite was spacious and had a lovely view of the inner-garden courtyard. There were many activities going on throughout each day, and staff members would often come up to her room to encourage her to join in. When she wanted to be able to sing with others, the activities leaders jumped right in and helped to get this new activity started. Because of her age, she spent much of her time, by choice, in her room, and enjoyed the beautiful library available to all the residents. What I was most impressed by is the warmth and caring shown to residents by all the staff. Always a cheerful greeting, a drop-in to just say ‘Hi’ and to check in on her, and during the last weeks of her life, staff were so helpful, gentle in their care-giving and responded so quickly to her call button that each resident wears. I felt she was surrounded by their care, and our family was so well taken care of during these last difficult weeks. We were fed, supported, but also allowed privacy.
