From the moment I was introduced to Aegis Living Granada Hills, I was convinced that it was the right and best place for our mother. It was clear she believes in the company and quality of care available. My brother had the same reaction when he spoke with her. We were also very relieved that Aegis Living Granada Hills provides a setting for aging in place, and, especially, that Memory Care services are an option for when (if) she reaches that point in her life.
The entire facility appears to be well-maintained and clean. Every member of the staff with whom I came into contact was very friendly, welcoming and helpful, which was very much appreciated. I was amazed at the quality of care. She couldn’t want for anything that wasn’t provided her. She needed help hanging a picture? Someone came right up. She needed help with something else? A staff member was right there. Even the movers that Aegis provided her, who had to handle very large pieces of furniture, worked tirelessly to place everything just where she wanted it, including assembly of a gigantic bedroom set.
The nurses for her initial assessment were patient, understanding and kind. (This was a particularly difficult time for our mother, as our father had just passed away only 9 days before move in day.) My family and my brother and sister-in-law were treated to a lovely Mother’s Day lunch on my last day staying with mom last year. The food was delicious, healthy and ample.
I am impressed by the number of daily activities offered at Aegis and the adorable movie theater on site. I would definitely recommend Aegis Granada Hills. It remains family-owned and run since inception, which shows in the care. It is also a smaller facility, allowing for more personal attention.
