Like so many of us seniors, my wife and I were quite reluctant to give up our own home when it became clear that we could no longer live on our own. After looking at a number of places, we decided to join Aegis Mercer Island. We could not have made a better decision, and the only question was ‘why didn’t we come here earlier?’ The quality of care here is second to none, the atmosphere among our fellow seniors is most pleasant, and the interaction with staff is genuinely cordial. And, of course, the meals here are like in a first class restaurant, served with grace and professionalism. We are kept busy in the best way possible, with activities ranging from daily exercise classes to book readings to crafts to first rate movies, even bingo—something for everybody here.

I think Aegis is a wonderful place when you need help. You make friends with everyone, wonderful activities. It’s a nice experience. I will never forget Aegis.

Our father LOVES Aegis. He is so proud to live at Aegis and be part of its community/family. He is thriving with all the available activities keeping him physically, mentally, and socially healthy.

My mother has resided at Aegis Mercer Island since almost the time it opened. Our experience there has been wonderful! The staff and caregivers obviously love their work and love all the residents for whom they care. The building and interior decoration are gorgeous—it truly looks, feels, and runs like a 5-star resort. The food is excellent, and the chef goes out of his way to accommodate the various dietary needs and restrictions of the residents—while offering delicious and varied menus. My mother has been treated as though she were a dear member of each caregivers’ and staff members’ own family.

My mother tells me that everyone is so very kind to her. She says that everyone just loves her!! It can’t get much better than that!!
