Residents enjoy chef-prepared meals that are easy for them to eat and packed with essential nutrition. Even place settings are designed with the needs of residents with memory loss in mind. Nostalgic items, local history displays, and recognizable landmarks spark reminiscing and fond memories.

Our residents participate in music therapy with certified therapists to harness the powerful benefits of music for seniors living with dementia.

Visiting community physicians and other visiting medical and wellness professionals save trips to the doctor’s office.

Our proactive and attentive care staff are here to assist in mobility—like Hoyer lifts and two-person transfers—and wellness needs like physical therapy or insulin injections.

Our emergency call pendants with state-of-the-art fall detection provide access to help at the push of a button. Motion sensors are also available when residents can benefit from additional safety measures.

Our team communicates with families when, for safety or dignity of the resident, the smaller and more intimate setting of secured Memory Care is a better fit. However, we have witnessed over the years that those moving into Assisted Living at an earlier stage of memory loss can often delay or prevent a move to a secured setting as they benefit from expert programming that can improve memory or delay the progression of memory loss.

Our communities employ various safety measures for the wellbeing of our residents. These measures include monitoring systems, 24-hour onsite staff, emergency-call pendants, motion sensors, and protocols for preventing wandering (it's common for those with dementia to exit-seek). And our trained staff are skilled in managing challenging behaviors often associated with memory loss.

Typically, Medicare does not cover the cost of long-term Memory Care. But it may cover certain medical services and treatments related to Memory Care, such as doctor’s visits, diagnostic tests, and medications. We recommend checking with Medicare and your insurance provider to understand the specific coverage and benefits related to Memory Care. At Aegis Living, all of our communities are private pay only. Monthly rent covers the cost of your loved one’s apartment and includes services such as housekeeping, meals, transportation, and utilities.

When it comes to care, we charge based on care points—charging individually for the care services that the resident will receive and paying only for what they need. This structure allows families to remove or add services as their loved ones’ needs change.
